Barry Motes - Parables

The Krempp Gallery at the Jasper Arts Center is pleased to present the work of artist Barry Motes. His work is based on a personal investigation of spiritual themes and their relationship to the physical world. The Parables paintings, which he will be exhibiting, are based on Biblical stories that convey transcendent truths.

Motes has reinterpreted some of these stories using allegorical figures in surreal, contemporary landscapes, meant to challenge a cynical post-modern audience. He uses traditional painting techniques to create persuasive images with symbolic meaning and psychological resonance. Visit www.jbmotesart.com to learn more about the artist.
