Spa at West Baden Makes Condé Nast Traveler List of Top 100 U.S. Resort Spas

When you think about spa destinations, Indiana isn’t usually the first location that comes to mind. However, the readers of Condé Nast Traveler have been spreading the word about the relaxation gem found in southern Indiana at French Lick Resort. This marks the third consecutive year that The Spa at West Baden has been recognized on Condé Nast Traveler’s list of Top 100 U.S. Resort Spas.

Condé Nast Traveler's 2013 Spa Poll results were derived from our 2012 Readers’ Choice survey, whose questionnaire was available through a secure website. Tabulation of the survey’s 46,476 responses was done by Global Market Insite, Inc., of Marlborough, Massachusetts. Spas were rated excellent, very good, good, fair, or poor on three criteria: Spa Facilities, Spa Staff and Spa Treatments. Those criterion scores, representing the percentage of respondents who rated a spa excellent or very good, were averaged to determine the overall rating for the spa. A minimum number of responses was required for inclusion in these rankings. The full list of winners can be viewed on Condé Nast Traveler’s website.

Guests can discover true relaxation at the 28,000 square foot Spa at West Baden. Marble inlaid floors, deep chocolate cabinetry and hand-blown glass welcome guests to the destination spa. Professional therapists treat guests to an experience far beyond a traditional spa service. Indulgent experiences include relaxing massages, all natural facials, cleansing scrubs and more. The spa is located in a two-level natatorium, which was reconstructed based on historic photographs of the original structure built in the early 1900s. The old-word style extension of the hotel houses 12 treatment rooms, a fitness center and indoor lap pool.

Equally noteworthy is The Spa at French Lick, located in the French Lick Spring Hotel. Tranquility is re-defined at the 27,000 square foot Spa at French Lick, with roots tying back to the turn-of-the-century. The local mineral springs first brought guests to the area to experience “abundant energy and the thrill of pulsating vitality.” Today, French Lick continues to cater to the discerning travelers and spa aficionados alike. Guests can bathe in the famous mineral baths that have been offered for over 100 years or try one of the resort’s cutting-edge anti-aging treatments. Spa treatments include massages, facials, body wraps, Pluto mineral baths, microdermabrasion, light therapy, manicures, pedicures and more. French Lick Springs Hotel features a two-level spa wing housing 26 treatment rooms, fitness center, bowling alley and indoor pool and outdoor pools.

  1. This case is going to make national headlines before it's all over and the Hot Stone Massage Carmel Police Department is going to have egg all over its face.
