May in Harrison County

Hayswood Theatre Presents Rumors
May 10 to May 26
Hayswood Theatre on Capitol Avenue in Historic Downtown Corydon, Indiana, announces Neil Simons Rumors opening on May 10 and running through May 26. As the play begins, Ken Gorman and his wife, Chris, arrive early at his client’s anniversary party to find the house empty except for his client who is upstairs in the bedroom, face down in a pool of blood. The good news is it isn’t as bad as it seems. The bad news is that the couple have to act like nothing is wrong, despite the fact that there is no food, no help and no hosts. As the guests continue to arrive, the stories told, assumed, implied and discovered become more and more tangled until the entire party finds themselves working together to hide what they do know . . .which they all agree isn’t much. Visit hayswoodtheatre.com for more info.

Salute National Travel and Tourism Week!
 May 4th to 12th
The first full week of May is recognized as National Travel and Tourism Week. It is locally known as Harrison County Travel and Tourism Week, a tradition since 1984 after Congress passed a joint resolution in 1983 designating the week to be celebrated in May. Between May 4th and 12th, the Harrison County Convention and Visitors Bureau invites the local community to “Be a Tourist in Your Own Hometown” and discover everything there is to do in your own backyard.
The HCCVB works throughout the year to design special advertising and promotional programs that will encourage out-of-town visitors to come to Harrison County for overnight visits. During “Tourism Week”, the HCCVB focuses on the community’s awareness of the importance of tourism as a major industry that is vital to the economic stability and growth in Harrison County. Stop by the Blaine H. Wiseman Visitors Center May 4-12 for an open house.
